About KISS
Khabarovsk International Summer School (KISS) is the annual educational project organized and held by the Department of International Projects and Programs of Far Eastern State Transport University. It was established in 2009 as a seminar for students, who studied Russian as a foreign language. Since then KISS is constantly growing and developing. Nowadays the School works as an adaptation program for foreign students.
Every year the School welcomes participants who would like to enhance language skills, adopt for studying at FESTU, or just have a good time in summer time.
Terms and venue: July-August, Far Eastern State Transport University, Khabarovsk, Russia.
Optionally, special 2 or 3 week courses can be arranged for groups during summer.
Goals and objectives: As the majority of the School participants are potential students of FESTU, the program of the seminar is directed to language adaptation of newly-arrived foreign students, development of their communication skills, increasing the efficiency of the educational process as well as the adaptation of foreign students to new forms of organization of learning process and new conditions of social and cultural environments.
Social & Cultural program: the program of the Summer School includes various tours and excursions (city tours, attending museums, sightseeing, etc.).
Testing: After completion of the learning course all students take final testing in the Testing Center of FESTU. Those who are interested can take a testing for State Certification Test (TORFL) which is obligatory for studying in the Russian Federation.
NOTE: The cost of the program does not cover the cost of the TORFL (Test of Russian as a Foreign Language).
Awarding: When the Summer School is over those students who have passed final testing successfully obtain a Certificate of completion. Distinguished students are awarded with special certificates.
NOTE: Students of philological universities can be given an academic transcript for record at their universities.
