The 8th season of Khabarovsk International Summer School (KISS) opens on August 2, 2016
Opening ceremony of the 8th season was held in the Assembly Hall of Far Eastern State Transport University.
This year KISS unites students from China, France, Korea, Argentina, Japan, Uruguay and Australia. They are people of all ages who are eager to learn or improve their Russian language skills and to dive into Russian culture, history and folklore.
Among the honored guests and FESTU authorities who provided their welcome speeches for the ceremony were: Vice-Rector of FESTU Andrey Ganus, Consul General of Consulate General of China in Khabarovsk Guo Zhijun, Director of the Department for Analytics and Tourism (Khabarovsk Krai Ministry of Culture) Valentina Neretina, Director of the Department for Interaction with Universities and Science Organizations (Department for Professional Education, Khabarovsk Krai Ministry of Education and Science) Alexei Sundukov, Director of the Education Department of Khabarovsk Eparchy of the Russian Orthodox Church priest Stefan Nokhrin and the Director of FESTU Department for International and Public Relations Svetlana Khan.
Official ceremony was followed by the singing and musical performances of KISS volunteers, teachers and guest artists - Ivan Karpov (balalaika playing), Alina Karpov (vocals), Alyona Drach (vocals), Maria Koryakina (flute playing), Olga Sergeeva (vocals) and others.
